#CompanySpotlight on music supervision and production specialists SIREN

Published by

SIREN are a small team of experienced and award winning producers & music supervisors who love music and are based in Central London.

They collaborate with a global network of extremely talented composers and producers and our goal is to answer your brief with the strongest musical solutions available.

Their work philosophy is simple; work with passionate and communicative clients who want great music to help tell their stories.

How was your company born and where are you based?

SIREN was born in 2011. Sister company to Factory Studios and the best younger sibling anyone could ask for!

We are a music supervision and production company and are made up of award winning music supervisors, producers and composers.

Based in Oxford Circus so as central as they come.

What was the biggest challenge to the growth of your company?

Finding the right team to build the company with. Our people are everything, we have a hugely talented team and we need to ensure that we continue creating great work in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Which was the first huge success that you can remember?

For me personally the first project I solo supervised the music on was a Coke spot which felt huge and showed me I had definitely found the right path. Recently we’ve been doing more long form work alongside advertising.

One of our recent films feels like a big success in terms of the end result as well as the process. We were the music supervisors on a brilliant film called RAGING GRACE which will have its world premiere at SXSW 2023.

We worked alongside the super talented composer Jon Clarke and had a really collaborative experience with the Director Paris Zarcilla & producer Chi Thai, couldn’t have asked for a better team!

What’s the biggest opportunity for you and your company in the next year?

We’re really excited about what’s coming up in 2023. We’re working on some new immersive and experiential projects and can’t wait to explore the opportunities this gives us to reimagine and incorporate music in new and innovative ways within these realms.

We’ve got some more films in the pipeline which we’re really looking forward to and will be heading to SXSW to promote RAGING GRACE with the director Paris Zarcilla, producer Chi Thai & composer Jon Clarke so if anyone is out there this year let’s catch up!

We are also exploring the opportunity of releasing some music with some artists and producers who we think are brilliant and admire greatly so watch this space!

Can you explain your team’s creative process? What makes it unique?

At the heart of everything is a deep love of music. In the SIREN team we all come from very different backgrounds with different musical tastes, interests & hobbies which means that everyone approaches briefs from very different angles.

This allows us to have a really broad scope and means that everyone brings something to the table.

How does your team remain inspired and motivated?

We keep ourselves culturally immersed and go on team excursions to keep us inspired and motivated. They could be anything that piques our interest from gigs to immersive experiences, art installations to theatre, exhibitions & films.

How has COVID-19 affected your company?

COVID-19 was hugely impactful to everyone. The positive changes we have taken away is the continued remote / hybrid / flexible working which has helped bring us all more balance.

Which agencies do you gain inspiration from? Do you have any heroes in the industry?

During and post COVID it feels like lots of exciting new Agencies have emerged and there have also been big shifts in the more established names which has allowed everyone to bring fresh perspectives to the fore.

What is one tip that you would give to other agencies looking to grow?

Focus on your people and build the best team you can.

How do you go about finding new clients/business? (Pitching, work with retainers, etc.)

Our business comes from a multitude of different places but is all built on trust, collaboration and respect with our clients whether it’s a pitch or repeat business.

What’s your one big hope for the future of the industry?

Last year we started working with The Avenues alongside Factory to try and offer opportunities to disadvantaged children and young people in West London. The hope being that they will become new voices in our industry, helping us diversify and widen our perspective.
